BloonsTowerDefence6 is a constant battle beween monkeys and self evolving biological menace aso known as bloons.
Scans of their fallen soldiers shows they are made out of rubber that is extremely damaging to the enviroment and monkeys themself.

This may seem cliche or far fetched in every way possible, but all the evidence leads to it, and it goes further than just monkey city. If we a going in chronological order from btd 1 to all the games up to 6, Bloons are virus that where made by a small group of scientist/monkeys for war purposes.
Before we get into how/ why the monkey made the bloons. lets get into the bloons biology how a bloon can cause damage to cities and even kill a monkey. using our present knowledge on viruses and such, we can assume bloons are a set of DNA, and protein of some sort because it can act, move and evolve on its own. Bloons evolving on there own has been shown throughout the series. from regular bloons, to moab classes, to camo to regrow, to magic(purple) to hybrid perfection of a ddt. bloons act like ants, a hive mind. In the super monkey franchise, bloons can make extremely large and powerful forms to attack monkeys and break through defenses. viruses and bacteria act lie hive minds but on a dumber scale i believe. oh, and bloons can follow set paths. There has been multiple instances in movies of humans making viruses to wipe out the human race, and in real life people indirectly make superbugs every day. and don't get me started on the experimental bacteria and such military and scientist worked/work on for war. it's pretty likely monkeys with the intellect of humans would do the same thing. Now how can a bloon harm a monkey? by self destruct, suffocation and crushing. The worst reds-pinks can do is suffocate a monkey by stretching around the face or opening up its bottom (not weird at all) and enveloping a monkeys head. the bloon wont deflate from this as bloons only pop from sharp object or extremely Hard hit from a solid object. hands wont protect a weapoless monkey. oh and they can do a mini explosion shown by artwork of moab classes of bmc and shown from art in game. it really isn't hard to self destruct. whites-moab classes can easily harm a monkey through physical methods. whites contain 11 layers total of mass. leads are heavy and contain 20 layers of mass. ceramics and moabs speak to themselves.
Btd 1,2, and 3 was obscure with lore but enough hints stems from those games. In those games from the monkey community we follow, the monkeys know about bloons presence and threat probably from experience. from the looks of it our monkey were just wild monkeys chillin' eating bananas until the bloons popped up outta no where like in attack on titan.but as you can see our tribe has adapted into making machines and weapons to stop the bloons from entering the village to avoid potential damage. but 4+5 is when things ramp up. in these games we start to have extreme city development. theres military monkeys with mortars, ships and Gatling guns, spike factories, sun monkeys, wizards,farms, etc, and one of the first signs of True evolution in a bloon. Camo , regen and pink. before yellows came from blacks and white, now yellows come from pink and pink come from black and white. And theres a lot more locations where battles take place. from train tracks, roads, flowers, plains, forest, factories, boomerang monkey schools, monuments! bloons are now official everywhere and are a widespread problem. Now we get to BMC and BTD battles here monkeys everywhere have learn't how to make tools of there own and attack other villages. Most monkeys know how to use bloons to their advantage and wage wars on other clans. But little do the monkeys know, bloons are becoming more than just a tool for war. They will always win. not because you die in free play, its because monkeys rely on each every monkeys knowledge, power and lives to fight the bloons. bloons evolve and reproduce so fast, from nature and from monkeys. bloonarius, vortex, and other unique bloons rise up every few months stronger, better, or completely new. with monkeys fight and killing each other over contested points, bananas, and bloonium, the bloon will crush the monkeys, starting with the small clans working up to the cities.
